Chiropractor
Chad Abercrombie D.C.
For over 28 years, Dr. Abercrombie has centered his practice in the area of workers compensation, auto accident and sports injuries, where he works closely with local medical providers to ensure that patients obtain the proper care needed for their conditions. Dr. Abercrombie has specialized training in soft tissue techniques that have been proven to be very effective for shoulder, arm, hand, as well as lower extremity pain syndromes.
Dr. Abercrombie also has centered his practice in the areas of workers compensation, auto accident and sports injuries. He is a board-certified chiropractic sports physician with extensive training in head, neck and back pain, chiropractic rehabilitation, and certification in biomedical acupuncture and dry needling. Dr. Abercrombie has served as the President of the Colorado Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Abercrombie has had privileges at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Colorado Springs.
Chiropractor
James Thatcher D.C.
Dr. Thatcher earned a Bachelor of Science in cellular biology from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. He continued his education at Logan College of Chiropractic, St. Louis, Missouri, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1991. Dr. Thatcher has earned board certifications in physiotherapy and acupuncture as well as completing a postgraduate, 2-year orthopedics program.
Governor Bill Owens appointed Dr. Thatcher to the Colorado Board of Chiropractic Examiners for a four-year term in July 1999. Dr. Thatcher was appointed again in 2003 for another four-year term by Governor Owens. Dr. Thatcher and four other members of the Board were responsible for the regulation of about 2,200 chiropractic licenses statewide. Dr. Thatcher has maintained a full-time practice in Colorado Springs since 1992 and provides treatment for whiplash injury, sciatica, pinched nerves, neck pain, and herniated disks. He is also certified in acupuncture and dry needle technique (Integrative Neuromuscular Acupoint System). This system of acupuncture was developed by Dr. Yun-Tao Ma, Director of the Biomedical Acupuncture Institute. This system is highly effective in the management of pain as well as maintaining the body’s homeostatic balance. Dr. Thatcher completed all of his training directly under Dr. Ma at the Biomedical Acupuncture Institute. Most recently, Dr. Thatcher assisted the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners in a review of the Acupuncture National Board exam. Dr. Thatcher participated on a committee that edited, deleted, and composed exam questions. Dr. Thatcher regularly participates in the Penrose Hospital Vestibular Conference, a multidisciplinary group of doctors committed to furthering their education as it relates to balance and related areas of health.
Chiropractor
Scott Oliphant D.C.
Dr. Oliphant graduated in 2009 from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. He was licensed in Texas and practiced there before moving to Colorado and joining the Alliance team. With an undergraduate degree in Human Anatomy and Health and Wellness as well as a certification in Acupuncture by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, he is uniquely qualified to offer the highest level of comprehensive care.
His post-graduate training in pre-participation physical examination has helped him focus his expertise on diagnostics, evaluation, and treatment procedures for automobile and sports-related injuries. Additionally, he has in-depth experience treating work-related injuries. This work is aided by a level I Accreditation from the Department of Labor and Employment Division of Worker’s Compensation. In his practice, he knows the importance of working closely with local medical providers. By combining his expertise in manipulative therapy, soft tissue techniques and modalities, and acupuncture training from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, Dr. Oliphant can give his patients collaborative and innovative solutions to pain management and total body wellness.

Zach Bird D.C.
Dr. Bird, a Colorado native, is passionate about helping others achieve optimal health and performance. Growing up in Monument, CO, he developed a love for outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, camping, and golf, which inspired his dedication to wellness and movement.
Dr. Bird holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Business Management from Kansas State University. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland University-Kansas City, where he graduated Cum Laude. His academic and professional journey has focused on biomechanics and sports medicine, equipping him to help patients improve their function and maximize performance in everyday life and athletic pursuits.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Bird enjoys exploring the great outdoors, improving his golf game, and staying active. His mission is to provide personalized care that empowers patients to move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives.
